AER 0897 - Engine Performance

This course is designed to teach all areas of engine performance, from theory to the diagnosis and repair of drivability problems. Topics covered include electrical and computer system operations, engine control systems, ignition systems, fuel systems, and emission systems. Students will gain knowledge of sensing devices, actuators, control modules, diagnosis and service of OBD II equipped automobiles. Emphasis is placed on manufacturer's diagnostic charts and advanced diagnostic equipment. Use of scanners on fuel injected vehicles will be addressed.
Prerequisites: AER 0110, AER 0014 and AER 0360.
